Project Co-ordination
Sports Village & Olympic Parks
Logistique utilise their project co-ordination skills as demonstrated by the successful completion of the £5m Salford Sports Village to work with other such projects. This project was managed (until the construction phase) by Logsitique.
In addition to accessing the capital funding from eight different funding agencies, the consultants accessed an additional revenue grant of over £250,000 and were involved in the scheme from the embryonic design stage through to the official opening held in March 2006.
Logistique were also involved in the Project Management of the complex £9m Heywood Sports, Culture & Leisure Village which offers exciting opportunities for regeneration through sport in a New Deal for Communities area in the Metropolitan Borough of Rochdale.
Logistique were appointed to deliver a unique multi million pound football investment strategy in Leicester. The £11m investment proposal is for new football and ball court facilities at twelve sites around the city. The council aims to double its number of pitches from 30 to 60 and increase the number of teams from 96 to more than 200. Eight changing room blocks would also be built along with more artificial pitches and ball courts, plus new staff would be hired.
The biggest individual project of the portfolio is a £2.5m scheme at Aylestone Playing Fields where the number of pitches would increase from three to 17 and a 10-room changing block built.

Logistique provides a wide range of professional services for sport and leisure to the public, private and voluntary sectors throughout the UK. Logistique advise, guide and support sports governing bodies, professional and amateur clubs, local authorities and regional bodies on areas such as practical employment solutions, risk management, financial forecasting, development planning, governance modelling, upholding best practice and delivering innovative solutions.
One of the first pieces of work carried out was on behalf of the 'Street to Stadium' Charitable Trust which involved the development of a Comprehensive Action Plan, identifying potential funding streams and a recommended structure for future development.
Logistique on behalf of the FA have produced an Elite Disability Event Strategy, examining how the profile and quality of playing opportunities for the six national impairment squads can be improved through the hosting of major events in the lead up to the 2012 Paralympics Games.
Further work in this area has seen the production of funding applications to develop a volunteers programme for Salford Community Leisure, involving the recruitment, selection and management of volunteers for SCL's annual events programme.
More recently, Logistique have been involved in assisting West Riding, Wiltshire and Gloucestershire County FAs to produce four-year County Strategies in line with the FA National Game Strategy 2007 - 2012. Each plan was written after widespread consultation with the local football community and will shape football delivery until 2012.
On behalf of The Football Association, Logistique investigated the suitability of amputee footballers who use crutches as a playing aide to participate in mainstream and pan disability football.
As part of this piece of work Logistique critiqued and tested the Amputee Risk Assessment Framework which had been developed by the FA Disability Equality Advisory Group whilst consulting with the wider football family to investigate opinion concerning a potential FA rule chance which would allow amputee footballers to participate within able bodied pan disability and mainstream footballer competitions.
Following the work with Amputee footballers and The FA Council's decision to trial a number of mixed gender football games for seasons 07/08 and 08/09 Logistique were again commissioned to critique and test a mixed gender football risk assessment developed by The FA Women's Committee. In addition Logistique were asked to consult with the wider football family to gauge opinion concerning a potential rule change that would allow mixed gender competitive football to be extended to include under-12, -13 and -14 age groups.
Logistique have also undertaken an appraisal on behalf of UK Sport, GB Boccia and CP Sport on the selection of a host venue for the Boccia 2011 World Cup. The Boccia World Cup 2011 will be the most important event in the international Boccia calendar in the year immediately prior to the Paralympic Games.
Through Heywood New Deal for Communities Logistique has been involved in establishing a 'Strategic Health Partnership' for Heywood. This involved close liaison with key stakeholders to ensure the appropriate linkages with strategies and programmes were established and gaps in provision identified.
This work highlighted possible opportunities for pilot initiatives and resulted in the production of an action plan, to help encourage local residents to engage participate in healthy living and to take more responsibility for their own health and well-being.
Logistique have previously assisted Link 4 Life (Rochdale Leisure Trust) to devise and develop a local area plan for football, encompassing the FA National Game Strategy and its goals and enablers. The plan will help shape, guide and deliver investment and football in the borough over the next four years.
Similarly, with both Salford Community Leisure and the Hamilton Davies Trust Logistique have been involved in the production of a football plan for Irlam. The aim of the plan is identify, shape and deliver football across this distinct part of the borough.
Logistique have assisted Staffordshire & Moorlands District Council with the collation of an evidence base to support the council's sports and physical activity strategy. Logistique offered advice on the development of strategy priorities after interpreting the evidence base. This followed a critique and quality assurance assessment on the finalised document.
